A few months ago I got an inquiry in my email from Moryah, asking if I was up for photographing a double wedding in Vermont–My first reaction was; “Uh….hell YES!”, but, I composed myself and asked if she’d like to meet up for coffee so I could learn more about them, what their expectations were, and what their vision was for their wedding day.
Within a weeks time, I went up to the Manchester area and met up with Moryah, and her sister, Krysta, at a Starbucks. We grabbed coffee, a little table by the window, and ya’ll–when I say we ended up talking and laughing for hours, I literally mean hours–My husband, Kenny, had been texting me asking where I was LOL.
We bonded over our love of true crime (Krysta and her new Hubby just started their own True Crime podcast–called Omninous, check it out!) baked goods (Moryah is a baker!) and cheesy jokes. By the end of our meeting, we felt like long-lost friends, and I absolutely wanted to photograph this wedding!
It was a day filled with adventure, COLOR, love and laughter–everything a wedding should be! The attention to small details was impeccable–from uniquely designed rings, to scraps of lace from their mother’s wedding gown–ya’ll, I was in photographer heaven. Aaaaand, I may or may not have teared up quite a few times during their personalized ceremony + vows.
The reception was BEAUTIFUL! Krysta, Kevin, Russel and Moryah did not forget any details when it came to the decoration of the barn! It was SO cozy and personal! I also loved the fact they went untraditional and skipped the cutting of the cake–but instead did a cutting of pies!
As the reception began to wind down, we all headed outside for lawn games and SMORES! Yes–you read that right. Not only did they have a fabulous popcorn bar, they had a smores area!
Once the smores were done, I talked to the couples and convinced them to hop in my truck and chase the sun around town! Ya’ll, they were down for ANYTHING!
Moryah + Russel, Kevin + Krysta, thank you SO much for choosing me to capture your magic! I hope ya’ll are having a blast as your first week as newlyweds!
